    The 52d Munitions Maintenance Group provides four fully capable US Munitions Support Squadrons (MUNSS) responsible for the ownership, custody, accountability and release of war reserve munitions supporting NATO forces.

    Frankfurt International, Frankfurt-Hahn and Luxembourg airports are the most commonly used airports in the local area. In addition, Ramstein AB and Spangdahlem AB each have passenger terminals, which provide daily space-available and rotator flights to various locations around the world.

  • Child Care and Youth Services

    A full of array of programs are offered at Spangdahlem. The membership carries all through USAFE centers once a family has become a "member" of the CDC and/or AYA.

  • Currency

    Foreign money can be exchanged in banks (your local community bank/credit union or German banks), where exchange rates are better than in hotels, tourist information or currency exchange shops.

Base history

   Spangdahlem AB and the 52nd Fighter Wing have a rich history. The wing has seen many people and aircraft come and go throughout the years, but one thing remains the same. The 52nd has always been prepared to SEEK ATTACK DESTROY.

F-16 FIGHTING FALCON

   The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack. It provides a relatively low-cost, high-performance weapon system for the United States and allied nations.
