52nd Maintenance Group

Group Summary
The 52nd Maintenance Group provides safe, reliable maintenance for the F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft, support equipment and munitions resources with a trained, professional and dedicated force supporting 52nd Fighter Wing taskings in support of USAFE and NATO objectives. Additionally, the group performs maintenance on General Electric F110 engines for two fighter wings and various deployed locations throughout multiple geographic Areas of Responsibility.

Subordinate Units
The 52nd Maintenance Group is organized into two squadrons:

The 480th Fighter Generation Squadron (480th FGS) provides mission capable aircraft for the 480th Fighter Squadron through safe and professional maintenance. The squadron consists of one Aircraft Maintenance Unit, which is responsible for the servicing, inspection, maintenance, launch, and recovery of assigned F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft valued at $742M and $11M in support equipment to ensure aircraft availability and combat ready effective pilots for all assigned missions.

The 52nd Maintenance Squadron (52nd MXS) serves as the intermediate-level maintenance organization providing safe and reliable maintenance supporting the 52nd Fighter Wing and tenant units. Additionally, the squadron is responsible for the Central Repair Facility, performing maintenance on F110 GE engines worth over $345M in support of two F-16 fighter wings and various deployed locations throughout the CENTCOM AOR.

   The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack. It provides a relatively low-cost, high-performance weapon system for the United States and allied nations.
