In-Processing

Essential Newcomer's Information as of May 20, 2020 (with COVID-19 adjustments):

First Stop upon arrival will be to your unit’s Commander’s Support Staff.  Your CSS will initiate your unit’s in-processing and will schedule your Finance In-Processing appointment.  All military members are REQUIRED to complete their Finance In-Processing appointment within 5 duty days of arrival.


Finance In-Processing takes place at 8 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Located in building 128 (Finance) on the 3rd floor conference room. Remember: you must be scheduled to attend the briefing.

Items needed:
■ 2 copies of PCS order to include any and all amendments (front and back)
■ Copies of all receipts and flight itinerary
■ GTC statement
■ If a vehicle was shipped at government expense bring the original DD788
■ If you married enroute, bring your original marriage certificate

First term Airmen will be scheduled for the First Term Airmen's Center during First Stop. These Airmen will not attend Newcomers Orientation.

Newcomers Orientation
Takes place from 7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday.
Located in building 500, The Eifel Club - Main Ballroom

Call A&FRC at DSN 452-6422, or COMM 06565-61-6422 to reserve your spot. Space is limited due to COVID-19.

This is required for all active duty service members; it is highly encouraged for spouses and family members to attend. You are required to attend the driving safety portion of the briefing prior to getting a USAREUR driver's license.

Newcomers Orientation brings together an array of presenters that deliver both interesting and required presentations to include various regional and local policies, guidelines, host nation and status of forces agreement regulations, basic medical information, 52nd Fighter Wing Commander and Command Chief briefings and more.

There is also information about various on-base volunteer and commercial organizations. Attending Newcomers before making any major decisions or purchases could save you time and money.

The Spangdahlem A&FRC provides a cultural orientation tour to Trier, however due to COVID-19, this educational excursion has been suspended until further notice.

Free childcare is available through the "Childcare for PCS" voucher given by the A&FRC and funded by your Air Force Aid Society.

 

Medical In-Processing:

Please follow the below steps in order to enroll yourself and your dependents in TRICARE Overseas Prime and activate your Secure Messaging account to communicate to your PCM team. When you have completed the steps below, email ALL completed forms AND a copy of your orders via encrypted email to Ms. Suzy Han; suzy.han.ctr@mail.mil (452-8122).

If you do not have access to send an encrypted email, you may also perform a telephonic TRICARE enrollment by contacting international SOS at 08005891599 (Opt. 4). You will be asked to verify your information (i.e. command sponsorship status, orders number, etc.) over the phone.

What you'll be left with to accomplish after First Stop/Newcomers Orientation:
■ ID card registered into the Installation Access Control System (located at Visitor’s Center or MPF)
■ Personnel in-processing with CSS
■ E-mail account and computer drive access with CSS
■ P.O. Box issued, if not accomplished prior to arrival
■ Driver's license test completed and license issued at 52 SFS
■ Housing briefing (required prior to signing a housing contract)
■ Finding a house
■ Vehicle pickup, if applicable
■ FTAC scheduled, if applicable
■ Any additional unit-specific in-processing

   Spangdahlem AB and the 52nd Fighter Wing have a rich history. The wing has seen many people and aircraft come and go throughout the years, but one thing remains the same. The 52nd has always been prepared to SEEK ATTACK DESTROY.

F-16 FIGHTING FALCON

   The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack. It provides a relatively low-cost, high-performance weapon system for the United States and allied nations.
