The 470th ABS will temporarily change ops IAW official guidance on minimum staffing/physical distancing. While we still aim to deliver world class customer service, combating the spread of COVID-19 requires us to enact restrictive measures that will impact how we do business. 


**Effective May 18:

- Appointment availability will increase while adhering to COVID ops guidelines. Here are some updates regarding continuous safety and closures:

- All services remain on an appointment only basis, no walk-ins allowed.  Appointments will be available throughout the full duty week.  Same day appointments are available but please call ahead before travelling to ensure we maintain separation of customers.

- Policies including mask wear, personal distancing, and limiting presence (i.e. fewest possible members required for a task) remain in effect.

- IAW installation guidance the CDC, SAC, and fitness facilities will remained closed until further notice.

Effectively immediately:


  1. For all NON-medical/dental NSU functions:
    1. Interactions have transitioned to digital/telephonic ops to the maximum extent possible. Walk-in services are not available but same-day appointments are possible. Customers should call ahead to coordinate an appointment time before traveling.  
    2. All NSU phones lines & organizational email accounts remain monitored from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily. If you have business or a question please call the respective shop & our technician will work to meet your needs.
    3. All actions that must occur in person (i.e. passports, notaries, etc.) will be conducted by appointment only. Appointment windows are now open Monday through Friday as of 18 May. Any personnel can book appointments during these windows directly with the respective shop. Emergency appointments outside this window can be coordinated via Commander request.
    4. Mask wear is required in all areas where 1.5 meter distancing cannot be maintained.
  2. For all medical/dental functions:
    1. The Military Treatment Facility is rightsizing our services to protect you from unnecessary risk and to decrease the spread of COVID-19. To request an appointment or for questions, please call our centralized number at +49-2451-99-3200 or DSN 458-3200. 
    2. Dental ops are also affected by COVID-19. Until further notice, walk-in service is suspended and all previously scheduled routine care will be rescheduled. Dental care is restricted to Emergency Dental Services and Mission Essential (non-routine) Services for Active Duty personnel. Commanders & First Sergeants also have the number for an on-call dentist that is available after duty hours for emergency services. All other questions can be directed to the centralized number at +49-2451-99-3200 or DSN 458-3200.
    3. Mask wear is required in all areas where 1.5 meter distancing cannot be maintained.
  3.
