U.S. Service Member Acquitted in Wrongful Death Case

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany --  

Airman 1st Class Grant D. Harrison, a transient aircraft journeyman assigned to the 726th Air Mobility Squadron, a tenant unit at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, was tried and found not guilty of violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice by a general court-martial held here Sept. 30 – Oct. 11, 2024.

Harrison was charged with violations of Article 118 (unpremeditated murder), Article 128 (aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon) and Article 131b (obstructing justice) of the UCMJ.

Harrison was acquitted of the charges by a panel of officer and enlisted members.

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Deutschland - - Airman 1st Class Grant D. Harrison, Transient Aircraft Journeyman, der dem 726th Air Mobility Squadron, einer auf dem Luftwaffenstützpunkt Spangdahlem stationierten und unterstützten, eigenständigen Einheit, zugeteilt ist, wurde vom 30. September bis 11. Oktober 2024 vor ein allgemeines Militärgericht gestellt und für nicht schuldig befunden, gegen den Uniform Code of Military Justice verstoßen zu haben.

Harrison war angeklagt wegen Verstößen gegen Artikel 118 (nicht vorsätzlicher Mord), Artikel 128 (Schwere Körperverletzung mit einer gefährlichen Waffe) und Artikel 131b (Behinderung der Justiz) des UCMJ.

Harrison wurde von einem Gremium aus Offizieren und Soldaten von allen Anklagepunkten freigesprochen.
