Fasching Events

Sabers and their families can observe Fasching events in the Eifel area.

Most parades take place between noon and 2 p.m. Feb. 18-21. Fasching events always start of 11 minutes past the hour. People can ask their landlords or local mayors for details about the date and starting point of their town's parade.

With the freezing temperatures it's advisable to wear warm clothes. People are encouraged to wear costumes for any Fasching events, but this is not a must.

The following is a list of nearby events and their dates:

- 3:11 p.m. Feb. 18 in Oberkail and Klausen

- 7:11 p.m. Feb. 18 in Idenheim

- 2:11 p.m. Feb. 19 in Spangdahlem, Bruch, Dreis, Salmrohr, Hetzerath,Bettingen, Preist and Orenhofen

- 4:11 p.m. Feb. 19 in Burg/Salm

- 2:11 p.m. Feb. 20 in Herforst, Landscheid, Foehren, and a larger parade in Dreis and Dudeldorf

- 4:11 p.m. Feb. 20 in Arenrath

Other Fasching celebrations, such as Kappensitzung events, which are fun sessions, scheduled to take place in the local area are:

- Fasching celebrations at 2:11 and 8:11 p.m. including life entertainment music Feb. 16 and starting again at 2:11 p.m. Feb. 18

- Women's Kappensitzung 7:11 p.m. Feb. 16 in Dudeldorf

- Ladies Fasching party, including husbands, 8:11 p.m. Feb. 16 in Mettendorf

- Women's Kappensitzung 2:11 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Grumbach Gasthaus in Orenhofen

- Mens' Ballet Competition Night 7:11 p.m. Feb. 17 in Welschbillig

- The community of Platten will host their first dance festival for free at 8:11 p.m. Feb. 17 at a heated tent.

- Gala-Kappensitzung 8:11 p.m. Feb. 18 in Dreis

- Kappensitzung 8:11 p.m. Feb. 18 in Landscheid

- Gala-Kappensitzung 8:11 p.m. Feb. 18 in Minderlittgen

- The Trier Rose Monday Fasching parade is several hours long and takes place 12:11 p.m. Feb. 20 from Trier South to Trier North.

- Children's carnival 3:11 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Herforst community hall

- Children's Carneval 3:11 p.m. Feb. 21 in Bruch

- Afternoon Kappensitzung 2:11 - 6 p.m. including coffee and cake in Minderlittgen
