Wurstmarkt in Bad Dürkheim takes place Sept. 14 - 20. This is the world's largest wine fest. This fest is a huge carnival and during the day it is children friendly. Wine is served strictly in very large glasses.

Oktoberfest occurs Sept. 22 - Oct. 7. The Mayor of München kicks off Oktoberfest Sept. 22 at noon by tapping the first keg of beer. Only after he has tapped the barrel are visitors allowed to start drinking. This is the most famous and largest folk and beer festival in the world.
