How to be a ‘Super Saber Performer’

  • Published
The 52nd Fighter Wing Super Saber Performer program is a recognition tool to acknowledge the achievements of enlisted Sabers. The program extends from Spangdahlem Air Base to its many geographically-separated units.

One common misconception about the program is that anyone - supervisor, first sergeant or commander - can nominate any Airman at any time. The reality, however, is there is a simple process and schedule to be followed.

The 52nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office follows a schedule that alternates through each squadron to ensure adequate recognition for each unit. An e-mail notification is sent to the squadron's executive officer weeks in advance to provide adequate time to find a deserving Airman. Once chosen, the Super Saber Performer receives a questionnaire for completion and is scheduled for an on-the-job photo shoot.

Super Saber Performers are selected for their achievements on and off duty, for representing the Air Force and the base well, and for behaving in a manner that exemplifies what it means to be a Saber, a wingman and an Airman.

Because the program is set to a schedule, the 52nd FW Public Affairs office asks random submissions not be forwarded for inclusion in the program. Rather, they should send nominations through their chain of command for consideration.
