America Recycles Day encourages Airmen to reduce waste Published Nov. 8, 2011 By John Tarantine 52nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Sabers will observe "America Recycles Day" Nov. 18-19 in conjunction with a base-wide clean up. The clean-up allows base members and their families to clean their offices, facilities, grounds and military family housing areas. The base recycling center and secondary drop-off points located next to the base theater will be available as well as drop-off points at Bitburg Annex's French Caserne both days. Base members using the recycling center will have an opportunity to dispose of CDs and DVDs at waste bins equipped with a device that destroys data for information protection purposes. Also, on-base residents will have the opportunity to dispose of used cooking oil. The recycling center is open Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 pm; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is closed every Wednesday.
