A class is available that is designed to help Spangdahlem community members deal with the stress or anger that is sometimes a part of military life.

The anger management class offered by the 52nd Medical Operations Squadron Family Advocacy office is designed to provide ways for people to recognize when they are becoming angry and what to do during and afterward.

"The purpose of the anger management class is to spend time talking not just about what anger is, but why we have it," said Lee McDonough, 52nd MDOS family advocacy intervention specialist and class leader.

The class lasts four weeks, with one 90-minute session each week. Sessions are usually held 9-10:30 a.m. every Tuesday. Make-up sessions can be scheduled, or the originally scheduled day and time can change if multiple attendees have a conflicting schedule.

"I try to be as flexible as possible, because I think this is a really important topic," McDonough said "I want to make sure that if there's someone with an interest, I'm going to do my best to meet their needs. Don't let schedule conflicts get in the way of seeking anger management help."

Anyone interested can register for the class, with a new one usually beginning on the first Tuesday of each month.

"It helped me realize that a lot of the ways I was dealing with stress were ineffective and gave me new ways of dealing with anger and stress," said an Airman who recently attended the classes.
