Jaquetta Thomas Unit: 52nd Force Support Squadron Duty title: NCO in charge of readiness and plans Hometown: New Orleans Years in Service: Nine and 10 months Why joined: I joined the Air Force because I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself. Family: My family consists of my husband, Staff Sgt. DeAngelo Thomas, mother, father, four sisters and four brothers. Hobbies: My hobbies are reading, traveling, shopping, cooking, baking, eating and sleeping. Favorite aspect of job: My favorite aspect of the job is taking care of my Airman and peers regardless of the work section. I enjoy helping others succeed in their personal and professional lives. If I can help at least one person daily then I had a good day. Most memorable Air Force experience: I have quite a few memorable Air Force experiences. I was given the opportunity to eat breakfast with former Vice President Dick Cheney, his wife, Lynne, and daughter, Elizabeth, when I was deployed to Balad Air Base, Iraq, with the U.S. Army. It was 14 of us out of 25,000 who were hand selected. It was very informal and personable. We were able to ask him and his family almost anything. I got to see a different side of the former vice president, and it was awesome. How do you make responsible choices: I make responsible choices by learning from others mistakes and using common sense. I am also the second oldest, so I have to lead by example for my siblings.
