The Golden Dragon restaurant reopened its doors Oct. 24, 2013, after completing an eight-week interior redesign.

The newly renovated restaurant now boasts increased seating capacity and a new sushi bar.

The Air Force Small Projects program and Air Force Personnel Center funded the non-appropriated funded project to renovate the restaurant, according to Tony Boob, 52nd Force Support Squadron community services chief.

"Customer demand is what drove us to submit the Golden Dragon restaurant for an Air Force Small Projects Program ...," said Boob in a Sept. 18 article. "Customers speak with their wallets, and our sales data shows us without question that this is one of our most popular food establishments on the base."

The $195,000 project included new flooring, wall finishes, lighting and kitchen equipment, according to Viet Phan, owner of the restaurant.

"I am very happy with the new look," Phan said. "We have been very busy."
