Michael Jackson Unit: Detachment 9 Air Force News Duty title: Television Broadcast Producer Hometown: LaGrande, OR Years in Service: 7 Why joined: I originally joined for the education benefits and job security, but once in, I realized how much I enjoyed being part of the Air Force mission and way of life. Family: Lawrence Jackson, Father, Leslie Jackson, Mother and sisters Elizabeth and Sarah Jackson. Hobbies: Fishing, snowboarding, hiking, playing cards and seeing Europe. Favorite aspect of job: Telling the stories of Airmen and the jobs they do to help fight the war and accomplish the mission. These are stories the American public needs to know about but much of the civilian media don't seem to care about. Most memorable AF experience: When I was a weather forecaster at Little Rock AFB, after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast. We briefed weather to pilots from all over the world running evacuation missions and helping out the people down there. It was really amazing to see an operation like that, with so many different people.
