Super Saber Appreciation Day takes place 3 p.m. July 4 at the base pavilion behind the Eifel Lanes Bowling Center.

The 52nd Force Support Squadron sponsors the event to celebrate Independence Day and show appreciation to the 52nd Fighter Wing community.

"Super Saber Appreciation Day 2012 is FSS' way of saying a sincere thank you to all of you for all the support you give us throughout the year," said George Price, 52nd FSS special events coordinator. "Without your support, there is no way that we could enjoy the success that we truly do."

The Eifel Lanes Bowling Center parking lot will be blocked off for activities and vendors. Limited parking will be available at Club Eifel. Attendees should use the parking lot near the covered basketball court on Arnold Boulevard.

Free food will be provided starting at 3 p.m. including burgers, hot dogs and beverages. The day's free activities will include paintball, a dunk tank, bouncy castle, bowling, pony rides, swings, a dog show, carousels and more.

Brig. Gen. Chris Weggeman, 52nd FW commander; Col. David Julazadeh, 52nd FW vice commander; and Maj. Cat Logan, 52nd FSS commander, will be among the first in the dunk tank.

Registration for the dog show is free and will be 2-4:30 p.m. the day of the event. The dog show will begin at 5 p.m. and will have five categories: adult dog obedience, young dog obedience, best trick, best costume and best in show. Attendees can have their dogs at the event all day if they remain on a leash.

"It's a day to appreciate all of the Sabers, and give them a day to relax, celebrate and have a good time with their families," said Heather Klabunde, 52nd FSS marketing manager.

There will also be a fireworks display that begins at 10:30 p.m. and will be launched over the northwest expansion, lasting about 25 minutes.
