Mission Complete: Saber Nation to celebrate return of deployed 480th Fighter Squadron, support teams

Spangdahlem Air Base will host a welcome event for the 480th Fighter Squadron and support units as Airmen return from deployment to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

The event will take place at a time and place TBD. Families, friends and members of the base community are invited to attend.

This redeployment marks the return of Saber Airmen who provided critical airpower and regional stability throughout their CENTCOM mission. Their arrival represents not only mission success, but the reunification of Airmen with the loved ones who supported them from home.

What to Expect

The event is open to authorized base personnel, families, and invited guests.

  • Opportunities for photos and personal reunions

Parking will be available on the ramp next to Hangar 1, with overflow parking nearby (please see map). Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking and access procedures.

Photography will be permitted, and official imagery will be captured and shared by the 52nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs team. Families are welcome to bring signs and decorations as they greet their returning Airmen.
