BINSFELD, Germany -- A local forest master, right, introduces himself to a group of participants of the annual forest walk here Oct. 9. Among the 52nd Fighter Wing’s participants were Col. David Julazadeh, vice commander; his wife, Kate; Bernhard Schaefer, community relations advisor; and his wife, Gertrud. Nearly 100 people came to the walk that went through the Binsfeld Kaasweg forested area. The forest master taught children about trees, plants and animals in the Eifel area during the walk. BINSFELD, Germany -- A local forest master explains how a wild boar finds and tracks acorns during the annual forest walk here Oct. 9. He held a stuffed boar in his hands and explained that the boar doesn’t see very well but finds acorns by smell. The children found acorns and treats on the forest ground themselves after the forest master asked them to wear eye covers and experience nature without their sight.
