Binsfeld Forest Walk
BINSFELD, Germany -- A local forest master explains how a wild boar finds and tracks acorns during the annual forest walk here Oct. 9. He held a stuffed boar in his hands and explained that the boar doesn’t see very well but finds acorns by smell. The children found acorns and treats on the forest ground themselves after the forest master asked them to wear eye covers and experience nature without their sight. Nearly 100 people came to the walk that went through the Binsfeld Kaasweg forested area. The forest master taught children about trees, plants and animals in the Eifel area during the walk. The community invited all participants to a traditional soup luncheon at the town hall after the walk. (U.S. Air Force photo/Iris Reiff)
