James Bouck Unit: 704th Munitions Support Squadron Duty title: Senior Emergency Actions Controller Hometown: Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho Years in Service: Six Why joined: My father was in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, and I was in Air Force Junior ROTC in high school. Family: Father, Les; mother, Mary; and brother, Robert. Hobbies: I like riding motorcycles, collecting cutlery and learning Greek mythology. Favorite aspect of job: Training aspects of the workplace and being a reliable source of answers. Most memorable Air Force experience: While at Dyess AFB, Texas, after returning from Iraq, my leadership put me in charge as a senior controller in the command post. One day, a tornado came out of nowhere and we still had aircraft in the air. The fact that my leadership had faith in me to run the shift and made themselves available in a time of crisis allowed me to receive all aircraft on the ground with no problems. It was this incident that allowed me to see how effective the team can be when we all do our part. How do you make responsible choices: Knowing the correct thing has to be done and knowing the effect each choice carries.
