480th FS during Air Defender 23

A U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon assigned to the 52nd Fighter Wing, takes off from the flight line at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, during Air Defender 23 (AD23), June 13, 2023. The 480th Generation Squadron is the only active duty Air Force fighter unit participating in the German-led collective defense exercise. The U.S. is committed to maintaining a credible and permanent presence in Europe. The relationships built over the last 74 years provide a strong foundation with strategic access to respond to threats against the United States as well as threats to our NATO allies and partners.
