U.S. Air Force Airmen and leadership from the 52nd Fighter Wing render a salute during the German National Day of Mourning ceremony at the Trier cemetery in Trier, Germany, Nov. 17, 2019. A live band played the U.S. and German national anthems and attendees held a moment of silence. Germany established the annual observance at the conclusion of World War I, but the day now commemorates all those who have lost their lives in war.
