Spangdahlem hosts NAOC
A U.S. Air Force E-4B aircraft sits on the ramp outside the 726th Air Mobility Squadron at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, June 4, 2014. The E-4B, a militarized version of the Boeing 747-200, serves as the National Airborne Operations Center and provides the President of the United States, the U.S. Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff with a worldwide, survivable and enduring command center for exercising national security responsibilities through all levels of conflict. The parked aircraft recently supported President Obama’s visit to Europe. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Gustavo Castillo/Released)
