480th completes Av-Det rotation 14-3
A 480th Fighter Squadron F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft pilot taxis on the flightline at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, May 2, 2014. The squadron sent aircraft and personnel to ensure a persistent NATO presence in Poland. Rotations of military aircraft and Airmen through the U.S. Air Force Aviation Detachment, 52nd Operations Group, Lask Air Base, Poland, began in late 2012, but were augmented in March as a deliberate effort to reassure allies of U.S. commitment and solidarity to collective defense.
