Military working dogs: Adopt a friend for life
SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Aida, a 7-year-old German Shepherd, is an explosive detection dog with the 52nd Security Forces Squadron. She is one of three military working dogs who have been put up for adoption and will be going home with their handlers. The 106th Congress passed a public law November 2000 allowing law enforcement agencies, military working dog handlers, and people from the general public to adopt them in.
