EOD Airman awarded 2nd Bronze Star
Iraq – Senior Master Sgt. Ken Pettibone and a coworker stand on the remnants of a house that was being used repeatedly for attacks against coalition forces. According to locals, the house had been abandoned for more than 15 years. Sergeant Pettibone was about 500 meters away while the Air Force dropped five each Mk 82 500 lb bombs on the house. Sergeant Pettibone and his team then went in to ensure there were no IED components. He earned his second Bronze Star medal for his work during his second tour in Iraq. (Courtesy photo)
