Airmen defend Bitburg courthouse key

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Women from Bitburg storm the Rathaus, or town hall, hoping to take control of the symbolic city key Feb. 11. 52nd Fighter Wing members took part in the celebration and assisted Joachim Kandels, Bitburg mayor, in defending the key. Once the women got the key, they also took control of the city for the rest of the day. The storming marks Weiberdonnerstag, or the first day of Fasching.
