F-16 engine repair critical to AF mission

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – A flange nut of an F-16 Fighting Falcon inlet gear box is torqued March 16. Tightening the bolts prevents possible loosening of the engine’s nuts during flight. Ensuring nuts and bolts are tightened is a critical step of the checklist that must be performed on the engine before aircraft installation. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Nick Wilson)
