BITBURG, Germany – A crowd gathers in the Kolmeshoehe cemetery for a Volkstrauertag, the German National Day of Mourning, ceremony Nov. 11. More than 150 people were present for the ceremony that included participants from the German and American military as well as firefighters, police and government officials from the local area to remember victims of war and tyranny.
