52nd Fighter Wing honors local national with Medal of Distinction
SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Col. Christopher Weggeman, 52nd Fighter Wing commander, presents Mr. Roger Graef, commissioner for the Bitburg-Prüm County, with the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Medal of Distinction at Club Eifel here Sept. 6. The USAFE Medal of Distinction is the highest medal awarded to host nation partners. According to his citation, Graef has been a positive influence in the advancement of German-American relations and has created closer ties between USAFE Airmen and host- nation citizens.
