Konstanz' Weihnachtsmarkt offers historic take on shopping
KONSTANZ, Germany -- Wind chimes, wooden figures and porcelain angels are among the items that can be found at the Konstanz Christmas market. The Konstanz market is said to be the most popular Christmas market of Germany’s Lake Constance region. The market spreads out all the way from the historic old city to the harbor and onto a Christmas-market boat. About 400,000 visitors come here annually and more than 130 vendors sell their art and handcrafted items, including glass ornaments, jewelry, wooden gifts, hats, books and much more. The Konstanz market is open now through Dec. 22 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. (U.S. Air Force photo/Iris Reiff)
