SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Staff Sgt. Robert Land, 606th Air Control Squadron radio frequency transmitting systems carftsman, performs link management communication on a central control monitoring alarm terminal during a communications maintenance exercise here Jan. 18. Proper link management ensures a smooth transition off the satellite. The purpose of the exercise is to train squadron members in maintaining communication practices by establishing satellite communications and setting up a theater-deployable communications package.
