‘A-Team’ A-10s, Apaches hone CSAR, CAS skills
BAUMHOLDER, Germany – U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Matt Kading, 81st Fighter Squadron pilot, uses a field-operated local-area-connection phone to call the Baumholder Kommandantuer range control center during a joint forces close air support and combat search and rescue training at the Baumholder Major Training Area here Jan. 26. The training integrates U.S. Army and Air Force resources to more accurately simulate the real-life CSAR and CAS scenarios encountered in deployed locations.
