'A-Team' A-10s, Apaches hone CSAR, CAS skills
BAUMHOLDER, Germany – U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Bob Carpenter, 81st Fighter Squadron pilot, raises a signal smoke flare into the air during joint forces combat search and rescue training at the Baumholder Major Training Area here Jan. 26. The training integrates U.S. Army and Air Force resources to more accurately simulate the real-life CSAR and close air support scenarios encountered in deployed locations.
