Barber recounts 4 decades of German, US partnership

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Heinz Willems cleans his area after a haircut at the barbershop here Feb. 10. Willems began work at the Spangdahlem barbershop Jan. 15, 1972, and has cut the hair of thousands of service members and their families during his four decades of service. Willems learned to speak English by talking with his customers. The 52nd Force Support Squadron honored Willems and coworker Guenther Anhuth during a length-of-service ceremony in January. Anhuth has worked here since 1969, marking 83 years of combined haircutting service to the Spangdahlem AB and Bitburg Annex community. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Daryl Knee/Released)
