‘Initial success or total failure’ - Ultimate sacrifice not forgotten

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – An American flag presented to the Hamski family by Gen. Norton Schwartz, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, sits on display during the dedication ceremony of an auditorium at the Pitsenbarger Airman Leadership School here June 22. The ceremony took place after the “Jog 4 Joe” 5K fun run that the 52nd Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight organized to honor Staff Sgt. Joseph J. Hamski, an EOD technician who was killed in action May 26, 2011. Money raised from the run was donated to the EOD Memorial Foundation and the Fisher House Foundation.
