International working dog units train together

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Chico, Luxembourg Police working dog, bites onto Staff Sgt. William Washer, 52nd Security Forces military working-dog handler, during a joint-nation training exercise inside the Spangdahlem Middle School here June 28. The training included capability demonstrations from French, German, Luxembourgish and 52nd SFS military working-dog units in different scenarios such as routine traffic stops, seeking drugs and explosives, and tactical search and restraint of suspects. The demonstrations allowed the groups to incorporate strategies and perform them side-by-side to get a better understanding of the purpose and reasoning for different tactical maneuvers. All of the participating agencies will use this joint training to perform a variety of tactical demonstrations at this year's International Police Week July 1, 10 a.m. at the Rue Du Stade soccer stadium in Belvaux, Luxembourg.
