Spangdahlem upgrades radar system

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – U.S. Air Force Col. David Julazadeh, 52nd Fighter Wing commander, cuts the ribbon of the newly upgraded ground-controlled approach facility July 1, 2013. The upgrade replaced all analog technology with the new Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System, an all-digital system that integrates certified weather radar capabilities and a constant sight picture.
