The annual Trier Volksfest festival is happening now until June 20. The event offers amusement rides and entertainment. For more information go to www.trierer-volksfest.de, but be aware it is only available in German.

The annual Middle Mosel Triathlon takes place June 18 in Zell.

The Mosel community of Riol will host a wine festival June 19-21 during the afternoons and evenings.

A traffic-free bicycling event, similar to Happy Mosel, called the 8th Pruem - Enz South-Eifel Bicycling Day, takes place June 20. People can bicycle, inline-skate or walk through beautiful scenery along the Pruem and Enz creeks for an entire day with no vehicle traffic. About a dozen communities located within the Bitburg-Pruem area and towards the Luxembourg border will offer food and entertainment for participants. The majority of events are scheduled for the community of Enzen. The annual Moto Cross race of Reil attracts visitors from near and far June 19-21.

The fifth Gerolstein Radsport bicycling sports festival takes place June 19-20. Activities June 19 feature a bicycle fair, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.; single rides, 1-3 p.m.; team rides, 3:30-5:30 p.m.; a kids race, 6 -7 p.m.; the donation marathon, Bike&Fun, 7:30- 9 p.m.; and live music, 9 p.m. to midnight. Entry to the concert is free. June 20 activities feature an Eifel bicycling marathon, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. in distances of 46, 107, 130 and 207 kilometers and a fair, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Call 06591-94991-21 or go to www.gerolsteiner-radsport-festival where additional information is available in German .

Enjoy the annual Bobby-Car race and summer festival of Wolfsfeld June 28. Events start at 10 a.m. with a children's flea market and car training. A schwenkbraten and German sausage sale will take place at 11:30 a.m. A local music association will provide a concert at 1 p.m., coffee and cake will be served at 1:30 p.m. and lastly, entertaining races will take place at 2 p.m. The community of Wolfsfeld is located between Bitburg and Echternach.

Visit an antique and sales flea market June 20-21 in Cochem and combine it with a visit to the castle there. The market is open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Trier's old city festival takes place June 25-27. Music, fun and a variety of food specialties will be available throughout the city's pedestrian area, reaching from the Porta Nigra to Viehmarkt place. The city tends to be crowded in the evening when bands perform concerts on various stages.

Listen to an organ concert by Prof. Matthias Dreissig, 6 p.m. Sunday June 20. The event is part of the Rheinland Pfalz- sponsored international organ music festival weeks. The location is the St. Markus catholic church in Wittlich.

A classical Chopin-Year 2010 concert with Marlo Thinnes takes place, 7 p.m. Sunday June 20 at the Wittlich Synagogue cultural and meeting center.

The Wittlich-Land area Eifelverein walking association invites pedestrians to a 10 kilometer walk from Dierscheid to Naurath June 20. The meeting point is at the Dierscheid Schutzhuette hut 11 a.m. The event features a four hour moderate walk. Walkers will have an option for lunch at a local guesthaus in Naurath. See the debut of the new European Youth Musical "Start to believe," 8 p.m. at the Bitburg Stadthalle, or city hall. The musical, which is presently touring Germany, is interesting to both younger and older generations.
