The Tornado Tavern Club celebrated a Grand Re-Opening event Sept. 20 with refurbished rooms, an upgraded kitchen and new gaming consoles for the base community.

All members of the base community, including military members and dependents, can use the facilities. Leadership hopes the re-opening of the club will bring a boost in energy and morale for their community.

"The Tornado Tavern is not just about a place for military members here to gather; but a place for families and to build relationships. In locations like these, friendships are not only important, but can last a lifetime," said Col. Mark E. Bowen, 52nd Munitions Maintenance Group commander.

The club will offer an array of services including lunch and dinner, thanks to the re-opening of the kitchen. Lunch services will be served on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dinner services will be offered Monday to Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"All the staff members are eager to treat you and your family to a unique dining experience with exceptional customer service," Said Staff Sgt. Valerie King, of the 702nd MUNSS.

The TTC is co-located with the Community Activity Center, where movies are shown twice a week. The CAC also plays host to monthly spouse group meetings, commander's calls, promotions and other special events.

A game room within the CAC offers different gaming consoles, like PlayStation and X-Box, with the latest games available for use by all military members and families.
In addition, the club hosts a special event every first Friday of the month, when Beuchel base members gather for food specials, games and music. Some of these games include Texas Hold'em, pool and air hockey tournaments and dance competitions.

"I am thrilled the 702 MUNSS can offer such a world-class service to the base and the encompassing families," Bowen said.
