German police seek owners of recovered jewelry Published March 16, 2015 52nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- The Trier Police Department placed pictures on their website of seized jewelry and request the Eifel community to review the recovered items. The German Police established a special investigative unit called "EG Banden" to combat a high number of recent break-ins/larcenies from private homes in the local area. Subsequent investigations into reported break-ins/larcenies resulted in searches of suspected perpetrators. During the searches, police found a number of items and seized them as evidence that may have originated from the crimes.
