Coming to Germany with 110-voltage items can be quite the hassle, but the Airman's Attic makes the transition simple with free 220-voltage clocks and various other items no matter what your rank is.

"We intentionally (stock) 220-voltage alarm clocks and small items that new Airmen may need when coming to Spangdahlem," said Danette Schultz, volunteer for the Airman's Attic.

The Airman's Attic also offers items such as toys, clothing, books and movies.

"Many people don't even realize we also have military uniform items like shoes, covers, Battle Dress Uniform parts as well various blues items," Ms. Schultz said.

The Airman's Attic is run with donations. There is always a demand for seasonal clothing items as well as 220-voltage appliances, electronics and an eager volunteer or two. The only items, not needed are 110-voltage clocks and appliances as well as older computer items which can be properly disposed of at the base recycling center.

The Airman's Attic is run by volunteers, so there is always a need for individuals who can dedicate a few hours per week. Airmen and their family members can volunteer by contacting the Airman & Family Readiness Center or just stopping by the Airman's Attic 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday or 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.
