Name: Staff Sgt. Roberto Gonzalez

Unit: 470th Air Base Squadron

Duty title: NCO in charge of medical logistics

Hometown: Westallis, Wis.

Years in service: 10 years

Why joined: I first joined to serve my country and then to improve myself as a person by taking advantage of the education and experience.

Family: I'm married to Tech Sgt. Jennifer Gonzalez, and I have a dog named Porkchop and a cat named Bentley

Hobbies: I enjoy design and travel.

Favorite aspect of job:
I enjoy making sure the customer is satisfied, managing projects, and the challenge of the workload.

Most memorable Air Force experience: The highlight of my Air Force career was when I was selected to help coordinate the visit of and escort Lt. Gen. Frank Gorenc, the former 3rd Air Force commander, to the Air Force Ball at Geilenkirchen NATO Air Base.

How do you make responsible choices: I make responsible choices by first ensuring that the choice is lawful and follows the Air Force core values. I then verify that it holds integrity within my own personal values. I then analyze the outcomes of each of my possible options. When the option with the best outcome is selected, I seek clarification from one of my mentors. Experience plays a vital role with speeding up this process and making key decisions in short periods of time.
