Name: Senior Airman Jazelle M. Wise

Unit: 52nd Security Forces Squadron

Duty title: Alarm monitor

Hometown: Hackensack, N.J.

Years in Service: Three years.

Why joined: I've wanted to join the Air Force since I was in eighth grade. I wanted a career that would allow me to better myself. I needed a career that allowed me to grow as a person and expand my knowledge about other opportunities available to me.

Family: My husband Christopher.

Hobbies: Writing poetry, and playing basketball and football.

Favorite aspect of job: My favorite aspect of my job is learning different techniques on the skills I've already developed. Learning different ways to handle a potential suspect has helped me to grow as a security forces member and allowed me to help my wingmen.

Most memorable Air Force experience: My most memorable experience was receiving my first medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal. I did not expect it, and it was very surprising. My operations officer helped me to develop into a responsible security forces member, and I appreciated the award dearly.

How do you make responsible choices: I make responsible choices by knowing the difference between right and wrong. I try to be a good example for others. I have fun, but I know that if something shouldn't be done, I don't do it. I look out for others as well as myself. I help as much as I can and I stay away from negative situations.
