Binsfeld holds German-American friendship run Published June 28, 2013 By Staff Sgt. Christopher Ruano 52nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- The community of Binsfeld is holding its 10th annual German-American friendship run and inviting all Airmen and their families from Spangdahlem to join on June 30, 2013. "This event is a great way to solidify the bonds and friendship we have with the community and be physically fit at the same time," said U.S. Air Force Col. David Julazadeh, 52nd Fighter Wing commander. The first event is the 400-meter Bambini Run for children up to age 8 starting at 9 a.m. This is followed by an 800-meter run for children up to age 12 which starts at 9:05 a.m., and a 1,700-meter run for youths up to age 16 starting at 9:15 a.m. Adult races include the 5,000-meter run starting at 9:30 a.m. and the 5,000- meter Nordic Walk starting at 9:35 a.m. The final event is a 10,000-meter run starting at 10:15 a.m. An awards presentation will take place after the events have finished and the times have been calculated.
