The 52nd Force Support Squadron and the Spangdahlem Officers' and Civilians' Spouses Club will host the Spangdahlem Eifel Holiday Bazaar in Hangars 1 and 2 here, Germany, Oct. 24-26, 2014.

The bazaar provides military members and their families an opportunity to shop around Europe from the comfort of the base, said Lee McDonough, 52nd Fighter Wing community support coordinator and president of Spangdahlem OCSC.

"We've added new vendors, so visitors to the Spangdahlem Eifel Holiday Bazaar will find the vendors they've come to know and love over the years and discover new faces and new products for sale," said McDonough, a native of Silver Spring, Maryland, and wife of U.S. Air Force Maj. Patrick McDonough, 52nd Dental Squadron dentist from Fayetteville, North Carolina. "We have dozens upon dozens of vendors from around Europe, as well as local home-based businesses and Spangdahlem private organizations."

The bazaar will also boast food vendors, live entertainment and contemporary music.

"We've also expanded our 'End of Oktoberfest' celebration in our outdoor foods area, featuring live entertainment and beer sales on Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.," McDonough said. "There will definitely be a holiday-feel with a mix of holiday and contemporary music playing and even a visit from a secret special guest from the North Pole."

McDonough said the bazaar raised over $90,000 last year through sales and private organization proceeds, all of which went back to the community.

"The bazaar is much more than a chance to shop - it's an opportunity to directly support the community," McDonough said. "When you make a purchase at the bazaar, you strengthen Saber Nation. Proceeds from the bazaar help support our scholarship program for spouses and graduating seniors, community organizations, base helping agencies and Sabers in need."

U.S. dollars will be accepted as the only currency for the bazaar. Visa and Mastercard will be accepted inside the hangars. Business hours will be from noon to 7 p.m. Oct. 24, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 26.
