Eifel Arms Inn offers holiday specials to authorized personnel Published Oct. 15, 2008 By 52nd Force Support Squadron SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- The holidays are a time for family, but finding a place for guests to stay can be frustrating. The Eifel Arms Inn's Home for the Holidays program helps alleviate the stress of finding comfortable and convenient lodging for visiting family and friends. Previous space-available policies allowed guests to make reservations only three days in advance. "This leaves little time for planning and can lead to a great deal of uncertainty and undue stress," said, Doug Marchel, Eifel Arms Inn Manager. Lodging's new, more liberal space-available policy now allows for reservations more than 30 days in advance during periods of low occupancy. With Spangdahlem Air Base's Home for the Holidays program, active duty military and DOD civilians stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base can reserve rooms at the Eifel Arms Inn beginning Nov. 3, for the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Guests may reserve rooms for up to seven days. The lodging staff has already set aside rooms for the anticipated load of Temporary Duty and Permanent Change of Station guests and the remaining rooms will be released for holiday reservations. The program was implemented for the first time last year, and allowed in 40 percent more guests to stay at the Inn than the previous year. Lodging is hoping for another successful year in 2008, accommodating even more guests in support of the community and team Spangdahlem. Any military or civilian member stationed at Spangdahlem who is entitled to make a space-available reservation is invited to take part in this program. Call 452-5107, Monday through Friday, between 8a.m. - 4:30 p.m. to make reservations.
