This ball is open to Airmen of all ranks. Because the event theme is "Dress to Impress," fitted caps and sneakers are not allowed. All Airmen who attend are encouraged to wear their best-looking civilian attire to the dance. "If they don't have formal clothing, it's OK," said Airman 1st Class Annita Harding, 52nd Aerospace Medicine Squadron public health and First IV member heading the organization of the event. They should just try their best to look nice, she said. During the Airmen's ball, there will be activities such as a dance off, best outfit contest and random door prizes. Prizes include discounts to a local barber shop or hair salon of the winner's choice. Disc jockey "DJ Coada" will perform live at the party, and a professional photographer will be available. "This event is an alternative to spending 20 euro on a taxi to go to (a local bar or club)," Airman Harding said. Airmen, especially those residing in the dorms can stay close to home, avoiding instance of driving under the influence of alcohol. The cost to get in is $2 in advance or $3 at the door.
