The preparation of Holiday Dorm Baskets is an annual project sponsored by the Spangdahlem Officers' and Civilians' Spouses' Club.

The goal is to give each of the approximately 800 Airmen living in the dorms a gift bag full of homemade cookies and other goodies - ideally with one dozen baked items per basket. That means about 9,600 cookies and other baked items are needed.

The OCSC needs your help to ensure success this holiday season.

This project is important because it benefits local Airmen, recognizing the commitment and sacrifice these young men and women make in their daily lives.

Living in Germany can be a great adventure, but it can also sometimes be lonely - especially for dorm residents spending the holidays away from family. Although this gesture may be a small way to thank them, the OCSC hopes the gift baskets will warm their hearts and make their holiday season a little brighter.

Cookies and contributions can be dropped off 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 15 at the O' Lounge and 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 16 in the E' Lounge. Please make sure to bake items that will hold up well in cellophane bags, and a variety of baked goodies can be nice, too. The OCSC will provide cellophane bags for packing and assembling the baskets.

Basket assembly will take place 12:30 p.m. Dec. 16 in the E' Lounge. Any help with assembling and delivering the baskets will be much appreciated.
