Konstanz' Weihnachtsmarkt offers historic take on shopping
KONSTANZ, Germany -- A popular Christmas market of Germany’s Lake Constance region can be found in the city of Konstanz. The market spreads out from the historic old city to the harbor and onto a Christmas-market boat. About 400,000 visitors come to the Konstanz Weihnachtsmarkt annually. More than 130 vendors from Germany sell art and handcrafted items, including glass ornaments, jewelry, wooden gifts, hats, books and much more. The Konstanz market is open now through Dec. 22 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Konstanz is a tourist town and university city located on the Swiss border. The city offers shopping areas, an old-town area and harbor.
