Provides health promotion services designed to promote a healthier lifestyle, enhance personal performance and effectiveness as well as reduce preventable illness and injuries. Services include tobacco cessation; general nutrition information for individuals and in group formats and cooking demonstrations.
Nutrition Program Services Description
Better Body, Better Life: Proper nutrition is paramount to overall health and performance. This is a 4-class series, 60 minutes per class, and will teach nutrition principles to include “Better Nutrition,” “Better Carbs,” “Better Choices,” and “Better Planning.” This class is ideal for someone looking for general nutrition information and/or tips for better meal planning. To enroll, please call central appointments, 452-8333, select option 1 and listen for “nutritional medicine.”
Individual Nutrition Education: Would you like to improve your nutrition lifestyle to lessen your chances of developing a chronic disease or to help in the treatment of an existing diagnosis? We are happy to meet with you one-on-one for diagnoses, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, food allergies, diabetes or pre-diabetes, and cancer. To schedule an appointment, please call central appointments, 452-8333, select option 1 and listen for “nutritional medicine.”
Foodie Fridays: Every THIRD Friday from 1130-1230 is “Foodie Friday,” a FREE cooking demonstration and tasting in the Health Promotions Kitchen. A guest chef from the base community will show you how to prepare a colorful and delicious recipe from our kitchen to yours! No pre-registration required!
Guest Speaker for Commander's Call/Private Organizations: We want to bring the information to YOU; our favorite place to speak with the Saber Community is at your established meeting place! Please provide at least 3 weeks' notice and the topic you would like to discuss. These speaking engagements can range from 10 minutes to an hour- we can tailor the discussion to meet your needs!
