2/17/2011 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- Department of Defense officials seek active-duty officers to participate in the 2012 Executive Leadership Development Program beginning in September.

This DOD program is designed for officers who have demonstrated strong leadership, commitment to public service, integrity and who have an interest in moving into senior management positions.

According to Air Force Personnel Center officer developmental education officials, Airmen who participate in the ELDP contribute a vital perspective on the missions, operations, culture, and customs of the military. During ELDP training, officers must be able to operate in real-life scenarios involving short deadlines and have the ability to conceptualize and analyze problems effectively.

Interested officers must be in the grade of major or major-select and have completed squadron officer school and intermediate developmental education, either in-residence or by correspondence or seminar. They also must have successfully occupied a flight-level or higher command position.

ELDP applications must be submitted to the AFPC Officer Developmental Education office by May 31. For more information on ELDP, visit the Air Force Personnel Services website or call the Total Force Service Center at 800-525-0102.
